Facebook Hacks Is Still Hacking Everything

The Facebook hacker controversy is perhaps one of the biggest stories surrounding Facebook right now. Since Facebook has become a household name with millions upon millions of members, it's not surprising that hackers are finding new ways to infiltrate the system and find ways to infiltrate others. Facebook hacker competitions are no different. There are several hacking teams who spend months or years trying to figure out the weak spots of Facebook security. They know how to bypass the most secure security measures Facebook has in place, and they are spending their time and resources at doing so.

Facebook Hacker Cup is an annual global coding competition held and organized by Facebook. The contest started in 2021 as a way to identify top young programming talent for future employment at Facebook. Facebook security was a bit lax when it first started allowing open submissions, so many of the young teams who started competing didn't really have very good ideas on how to hack Facebook accounts. This hacking competition was meant to be a way for Facebook security to improve, but it seems to have only helped those with actual hacking skills to bypass Facebook security.

Hackers have found several ways to get past the security measures Facebook put in place for the 2021 event, which began on Thursday and will run until Sunday. For those of you who aren't familiar with what I'm talking about... Facebook has over 500 million users... many of which like to use their app on their mobile device. The goal with the competition was to find ways to compromise these apps, which would allow hackers to gain access to the Facebook account information.

There were several teams who applied to the competition with hacks for Facebook... including teams from China, Russia, and the U.K. However, it was clear from the start that some hacking had to do with finding vulnerabilities in the core Facebook platform, which runs on the server side of things. Some of these teams actually succeeded in doing just this. After the vulnerabilities were found, the teams needed to find a way to distribute the vulnerability to Facebook's system and get it into the hands of the owners of the app. Once the Facebook hack tool was released publicly, a scramble began for developers to figure out how to protect against this new threat.

As of this writing there is no way to confirm if the Facebook hack will still be available once the official opening of the contest comes to a close on Sunday night. That being said, there are still a number of potential problems that may arise as a result. Hackers have found a way to bypass Facebook's application security, meaning that every Facebook user could be at risk. Some of the hacks circulating are working to try and trick users into clicking on a link which then installs malware onto their mobile phones. Others are collecting personal information by logging information from Facebook log files. All of these actions would leave Facebook users open to private information theft.

Fortunately, Facebook is taking the situation in stride and is actively searching for ways to regain control of the affected apps. In the mean time, a number of alternative Facebook hacking solutions are being developed and offered to concerned parties. While these may not boast the same level of functionality as an official Facebook hack, they can certainly offer enough of a solution to help users deal with the problem. In the meantime, Facebook users may continue to download apps such as Viber, Weblogs, Twixx, and Moblogging for free, but they should exercise caution and use them wisely. By taking advantage of the free services that Facebook has to offer, developers are giving themselves a chance to stay one step ahead of hackers while they continue to fight the battle over the internet.
